Terminals around the world handling crude oil, petroleum, chemical products or any other flammable substance are often some of the busiest and most hectic sites and they are vulnerable to fire hazards.
The importance of terminal fire safety is a growing issue and the terminals are constantly reminded to focus on and increase their fire safety. International safety guides recommend protecting potentially exposed equipment by means of terminal fixed fire-fighting equipment.
Activities, such as loading/unloading and storage of cargo containing explosive chemicals, fluids, gases etc, could be a safety issue and the risk of incidents, fire and explosions is substantial. Handling unexpected fires are not only costly but could also involve personal casualties, destruction of facilities, great environmental damages and severe business losses. In other words; the aftermath of a fire incident could be a disaster.

ELIMINATE FIRE HAZARDS WITH AN ELLEHAMMER FIRE WATER PUMP
The design consideration of a fire-fighting system depends on many factors including local topography and water depth, access to the berth(s) – open sea, river, channel and inlet, types of cargo, local environmental conditions and restrictions, etc.
Ellehammer pump specifications range from 30–3000 m3/h at up to 150 mWC. The pumps are customized to meet required specifications and comply with NFPA20 and class regulations.
The fire pumps are fitted with two pumps: a main pump and a feeding pump. The main pump is driven by a diesel engine or an electrical motor and the feeding pump is hydraulic driven. Both solutions can be installed in containers if required.
Installation and commissioning is carried out by Ellehammer service technicians who are available for support before, during and after start-up.
